Charm of Honey Taiwan Black Tea
The tea leaves of Charm of Honey Taiwan Black Tea come from the native tea plants in Nantou county. The tea was processed by traditional manual processes including plucking the leaves, rolling, pressing and fermenting. The final product is tightly rolled strip of brownish black tea leaves with a strong aroma of honey, longan and lichee. The tea broth displays a clear reddish brown colour. It has a smooth, sweet and soothing taste. All in all, it is an unforgettable Taiwanese black tea that is different from western black tea, a tea that one would love at first sip.
The Charm of Honey flavour is attained due to a unique process. During the growth stage, the tea plants must be bitten by tiny green hoppers, a kind of insect found only in Taiwan. As a natural defence mechanism, the plant will secrete a healing substance which is the source of the honey aroma. To facilitate the growth and multiplication of the tiny green hoppers, no pesticides can be used. Instead, a natural farming method has to be adopted, which means higher costs but lower production. The result is a good tea with a higher price tag, but every one can enjoy safely.
To taste Charm of Honey Taiwan Black Tea optimally, milk and sugar should be avoided.
